ICPS: Year 6 cleverly collaborate in creating a post-Impressionist Mural Masterpiece
This term in Art Year 6 have spent time learning about the Post-Impressionist Artist Vincent Van Gogh, they have been on a virtual tour of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Museum of Modern Art in New York where they came face to face (camera to camera) with Van's Gogh's Starry night. Year 6 were surprised to see how small the actual painting really is. They have also looked at Van Gogh's method of painting using simple mark making and explored his vibrant use of colour.
Inspired by the Starry night painting, Year 6 have created a digital mural, each child produced a section of the painting using the materials they have found around the house. It has been truly amazing to see how resourceful and resilient the children have been to produce this collaborative work remotely.
