ICPS: Yom Ha'atzmaut
ICPS had a wonderful Yom Ha'atzmaut, packed with activities and mitzvot. Starting the day with an all singing Tefillah assembly, we were then joined by Debbie Cowen from Ohel Sarah who described her organisation to us. Everyone from Reception to Year 6, pupils and staff, walked 1 mile as part of Ohel Sarah’s ‘Walk to Israel’ campaign, helping to raise close to £200 for the charity. Thanks to our beautiful and expansive grounds, we didn’t even need to go off site for this epic trip.
Our educational focus of the day was the map of Israel. Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 create ‘I’ve Bean to Israel’ maps out of beans and beads, while each class in Key Stage 2 focussed on a different section of the country, building models of famous landmarks. Everyone enjoyed Israel flag biscuit decorating as well as our special lunch menu for the day.
