Immanuel College launches the UK’s only Faith School Peter Jones Enterprise Academy

Immanuel College will be the first and only faith school in the UK to launch a Peter Jones Enterprise Academy (PJEA). Through the unique course offered through this partnership, pupils will gain    real-world experience by “bringing the boardroom to the classroom.”

A shared belief in the power of practical knowledge and skills to enhance a pupil’s education has led to a natural alignment between Immanuel College and the Peter Jones Foundation. Numerous studies increasingly indicate that young people lack the skills and experience employers deem important to their businesses. For example, 60% of employers value broader skills, such as listening and problem- solving, as one of their three most important considerations when recruiting school and college leavers. Furthermore, 67% of hard-to-fill vacancies are caused, at least in part, by a lack of skills, qualifications and experience among applicants.

PJEA programmes help foster a culture of enterprise, resilience and outcome-focused learning. Hands- on, accredited enterprise courses and qualifications offer participants the opportunity to run their own businesses, learn entrepreneurial proficiency and develop financial literacy.

Whether students are aspiring entrepreneurs, ready to make their mark within a growing business or wanting to continue in education, the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy puts them on the fast track to success, helping them to become the most successful version of themselves, whatever path they choose. Students can enrol for the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, where the business-led courses have a mission to unleash young people’s entrepreneurial talent by giving them the opportunity to ‘learn by doing’. Students on the course are given the unique opportunity to learn first-hand the essential skills needed for the world of work.

The Immanuel College Peter Jones Enterprise Academy will act as a hub of outstanding enterprise provision, where students receive pioneering support to start businesses and achieve globally recognised qualifications in business, enterprise and entrepreneurship.

Peter Jones CBE commented: “I am absolutely delighted to announce today this opportunity for Immanuel College to host a Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, the first faith school of its kind and a true centre for entrepreneurial excellence. I started the Foundation with a clear goal – to improve young people’s life outcomes through good enterprise education. It is more important than ever to empower the next generation of business leaders, wealth-generators and change-makers with the skills to succeed in the world of work.”

Sharron Shackell, Director of Sixth Form (IC6) at Immanuel College, said: “We are extremely excited to be able to offer the young people of our community the opportunity to join the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy. Students at Immanuel will benefit from small class sizes in a structured, nurturing environment with all the benefits of being part of a Jewish Sixth Form community. This diverse and hands-on course, which gives young people the experience, skills and knowledge needed to build long, successful careers, will be a fantastic addition to our curriculum.”
