Immanuel College today celebrates Yom Yerushalayim, the anniversary of the Six Day War of 1967, when Jerusalem in its entirety once again came under Jewish control for the first time in 2000 years. Never before in the history of mankind had an entire people been reconciled with a physical place after so long. In recognition of this, the day of Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) was established as an annual day to rejoice over this miraculous event in our history.
Mrs Fahidi shared this short clip with our school community this morning. It documents the story of her family, who were amongst the first Jews to walk through the streets of Yerushalayim and witness the Israeli flag flying proudly in a place we have been praying for throughout the exile. Chag Sameach!
