Immanuel College

Immanuel College Preparatory School provides an academically challenging environment which is vibrant, happy, creative and stimulating.

Our teachers have high expectations of our pupils and, within a nurturing environment, support them in order that they make excellent progress.

Immanuel College Preparatory School pupils develop intellectual independence and an enduring love of learning for its own sake, equipping them for the challenges of a rapidly changing world. The programmes of study at the Preparatory School extend beyond the National Curriculum and include our own Jewish Studies curriculum. They include not only the full range of academic subjects but also a wide variety of physical and creative experiences. Pupils benefit from opportunities to exercise initiative, develop team-working skills, and participate in visits beyond the classroom. The curriculum not only supports pupils' academic progress but also fosters in them awareness and understanding of a range of spiritual, moral, cultural and social issues, often through the 'hidden curriculum'; lessons that the children learn from the way that they are treated and are expected to behave via the role- models that we, the Staff, provide for them. In this way, it promotes their development into compassionate, empathetic and confident individuals.

Through our curriculum, we aim to teach children how to be healthy and stay safe, to encourage an enjoyment of learning, to enable children to achieve highly and to help children grow into responsible members of the community with financial and other life skills.

The Independent School Inspectorate found that "Pupils of all ages have very good levels of knowledge and understanding in the subjects they study"
