Overview

Immanuel College prides itself on knowing and understanding each of its individual pupils.

It firmly believes that happy, secure pupils achieve the highest standards.

Pastoral Care forms one of the three pillars of Immanuel College. The building of a strong and trusting relationship between a pupil, their parents and their school is crucial to ensuring that every pupil is supported and cared for throughout their time at the school.

It aims to:

  • Create a culture where pupils flourish, thrive and grow whilst encouraging a community of young people to value themselves, each other and their environment;
  • Promote socially responsible and respectful behaviour for others and their property;
  • Compliment the work of the family in developing the pupil's spiritual, cultural and moral views;
  • Promote a safe, secure and orderly environment in which pupils can realise their full potential;
  • Work to help pupils promote their own self-confidence and self-esteem;
  • Promote self-discipline, self-awareness and a strong sense of their own Jewish identity;
  • Offer academic, emotional, social and spiritual support and guidance for pupils on a daily basis;
  • Monitor progress in academic achievement and keep track of the overall picture, intervening if pupil attainment falls below pupil potential across subjects;
  • Help staff personalise the learning of their pupils by communicating with them relevant individual information about a child;
  • Promote strong links with parents to weld tightly the school-parent-pupil bond;
  • Encourage participation in co-curricular activities to enrich a pupil’s experience at school, their self-esteem and of course ultimately their CV.
