The Sixth Form provides a wealth of opportunity for students to be involved in clubs and societies which enrich their own Sixth Form experience, teach them leadership skills, and help broaden the experience of our younger pupils, all helping to strengthen the bonds of the Immanuel ‘family’.

Weekly clubs for younger pupils in which Sixth formers are involved include: Art Club, Bible Study, Book Club, Chess, ‘Club Europe’ which provides activities in French and Spanish, Dance, Debating, Drama, ‘Green-Power’ car building, and ICT and Science clubs. 

In addition, the Sixth Formers themselves run a number of their own groups, such as ‘Lunch and Learn’ in conjunction with the Beit HaMidrash, and subject specific societies which engage guest speakers to help broaden understanding, notably, the History and Politics Society, the Psychology Society and, for Economists, the Bank of England inflation challenge team and the Young Investor scheme, in addition to our very popular and thriving Young Enterprise teams which have competed successfully in local competitions.

Subject Clinics

A great number of Sixth Formers play a very important role in supporting younger pupils. This ranges from hearing Prep school children read, to Hebrew reading sessions with Year 7, to supporting pupils in Maths ‘clinics’, and to giving discreet individual support to pupils on a personal level in the form of ‘Peer Mentoring’. Sixth Formers also play a leading role in the School Council and are selected to be Senior Prefects and House Captains upon formal application in Year 13.

Our school is the richer for the enthusiastic contributions made by Sixth formers to Shabbaton weekends, the organisation of major school events such as the Dance show, the Chanukah fair, the Purim talent show, the Sponsored walk and on Open days. Indeed it is exceptionally difficult for Sixth Formers to avoid being committed to extra- curricular activities. Sports teams in the Sixth Form rely on a dedicated pool of talent, and the training of Sports leaders, whilst there are opportunities for further enrichment via the school’s musical instrument teaching programme, the LAMDA examination for Performing Arts and the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
